Povos do Japi começou nesta quinta, no Japiapé
Fazenda Japiapé, no bairro Ponunduva em Cajamar, sediou reunião da Rede de Agroecologia
Integrantes da Rede de Agroecologia Mantiqueira Mogiana estiveram reunidos durante a quinta, 6, na Fazenda Japiapé (http://www.japiape.com.br/) em Cajamar, marcando a abertura do II Encontro dos Povos do Japi.
A Rede (http://www.agroecologia.cnptia.embrapa.br/) é formada por um colegiado de instituições, além de produtores rurais, técnicos, estudantes universitários, estagiários e consumidores. Seu objetivo é difundir e incentivar a prática da Agroecologia e o consumo de produtos de origem agroecológica, que são cultivados com respeito ao meio ambiente e ao ser humano.
O Fórum Permanente Caxambu, organizador do Encontro, incentiva a Agroecologia para o fortalecimento da agricultura familiar, preservação ambiental e sustentabilidade
A Fazenda Japiapé, que produz e comercializa mais de dez variedades de hortaliças orgânicas, será uma unidade de referência da Rede na região.
O Encontro reuniu pesquisadores e técnicos da EMBRAPA, UFSCAR, UNICAMP, APTA, Secretaria de Agricultura de Jundiaí, agricultores de Jundiaí, Cajamar e Indaiatuba, representantes de ONGs e da comunidade local. Um representante do Assentamento Pedro Casaldáliga (Fazenda São Luiz) também esteve presente. Entre os estagiários da Unicamp, um intercambista da cidade de Hamburgo, na Alemanha.
Com cerca de 30 participantes, o grupo percorreu a propriedade, elaborando um diagnóstico para identificar os principais indicadores agroecológicos, visando a sustentabilidade do local. Uma agenda de novos encontros para 2008 começou a ser definida e deverá ser aberta a participação de mais agricultores da região.
